Incredible opportunity to work with Kerry Mart, owner of Creative Beginnings art therapist. Initiative to do extensive research with the University of South Australia to see how a 7 week project with people living with dementia can improve their memory each week with different forms of art classes; also known as art therapy.
My role was to plan, prepare and project to the team different projects for their carers at the same event.
Photos above are carers learning how to make African Patties in one of the Cultural Cooking classes. Another week we went for a nature walk collecting wildflowers to bring back and paint. I ha the great opportunity to hold a class teaching People living with dementia how to make pressed paper with flowers.
Incredible moment with seniors and a journey I with a positive outcome in memory improvement.
